CANDYLAND

April 10th 2019

CANDYLAND

The sweet effect yes that’s been my new thing for the past week. Can wearing candy colours make me sweeter and therefore more positive in life? Well I’m willing to try it! Due to a recent break out on my skin hormonal the dermatologist tells me which is a damn site better than my husbands diagnoses ” Maybe it’s an age thing” (never say this to a woman over 30) I have therefore been in a somewhat negative state dressing in black and mourning the skin I once had. In the hope of getting myself out of my negative bubble I decided to dress positivity ditching the black and wearing colours that my 5 year old self would opt for. Like a kid in need of a candy fix I take the same approach to my fashion luckily this trend is readily available on the high street. Think bubblegum pink, lemon yellow and cookie monster blue.

I start off in H&M lemon jeans and a pink knit teamed with my favourite Saks Potts jacket who can feel sad when engulfed in blue fluff. Later in the the week I  try out  mauve thanks to Neuw denim and I have to admit I do feel a little lighter. The smiles in response to my outfits definitely help to lighten the mood  and I’m feeling brighter myself

Call it nostalgia call it fun but dressing the way I want to be feeling instead of how I actually am has helped turn my week around. They say that positivity starts from within but failing that just head to Candy Land with your wardrobe and the rest will follow

XOXO Fleur
