Twinning with your kid fucking yay or fucking nay?

Twinning with your kid fucking yay or fucking nay?

Let me begin by saying that my son hates the way I dress probably scared from the time I picked him up from school in a Bollywood head dress and jeans. I am constantly requested in his worlds  to “dress more normal” This got me thinking with more and more brands launching a children’s range  are we actually into kiddie twinning?

Serial offerers of this trend are Katie Holmes and Suri I can’t tolerate preppy at the the best of times but a double dose no thanks. Stripes, pastel pink and headbands should only be worn by the 12 year old. Queen B reins supreme with her style posts of exquisite couture  but I can’t say it makes me feel great about myself seeing a 6 year old Blue Ivy wearing garms that I can only dream of.

Kimmy K definitely got my attention when North busted mini custom Vetements and I gotta say I kind of digged that mummy twinning maybe due to the fact that I loved that dress. I guess my question is what are we getting out of it? Even if our kid has the same dress do we have to wear it on the same day? Do we  really need that kind of attention?

Ok so what’s the key to this trend? A few things really  number one please consider if it actual suits your child the best kiddie twinning looks are effortless. If you wouldn’t naturally wear a pink tutu probably best not to over the age of 5, keep prints fun and where possible same prints in different styles are less nauseating for the public. Twinning sunglasses never get old and are on the right side of matching .  Avoid hair accessories, and go for things like jumpsuits and denim less contrived. The best advice I can give is to befriend a designer who can make custom outfits on demand if you want to reach that level of extra.

For me personally I’m still unconvinced and happily enjoying the years of my son putting together his own outfits which last week consisted of bermunda shorts, a camouflage hoodi, a top hat and a flick watch on his ankle. He’s got a whole lifetime to become self conscious and worry about what over people think so for now as I say to my son “ you do you”

The Garm looks at the best labels  for Mummy twinning style cause if you’re gonna do it you better do it right!

Go check One Teaspoon, Camilla, Gucci, From Zion, Onepiece,   adidas these brands are on the money!
